About Us Print
The Association of the Croatian Language Teachers in Victoria has been established in the late seventies. The Association worked closely with the Institute of Croatian Language and Parents Association in the long crusade for the recognition of the Croatian Language.

Croatian Language was recognised in 1980 by Victorian Government.

The Association of the Croatian Language Teachers in Victoria has played an integral part in developing and implementing Croatian Language programs for primary and secondary school for many years. It has continued to work closely with the teachers to promote and develop better and more accessible programs for mainstream Australians who wish to learn Croatian.

Professional Development are part of our vision so teachers take turns in organising the relevant PD for teachers to keep them up to date with the new teaching practices.

We also:
  • Organise writing competitions
  • Graduation ceremonies for year 12 students
  • Award ceremonies for top scorers
  • Perform at community events
  • Work closely with the Croatian Government representatives
  • Participate at the initiative that Victorian Government offer
  • Maintain Croatianlinx website and organise cultural days

Present president of the Association of the Croatian Language Teachers is Mrs. Katica Perinac. Katica has been teaching Croatian for the last 28 years and has written and developed many programs for the Croatian Language. She currently teaches Croatian at the Holy Family Primary School and Victorian School of Languages.
