2017 Annual General Meeting of the

Modern Language Teachers’ Association of Victoria, Inc. (MLTAV)

The MLTAV cordially invites you to attend the 2017 Annual General Meeting
(AGM) of the Modern Languages Teachers’ Association of Victoria, Inc. (MLTAV)

Agenda:

  • Welcome, Present and Apologies;
  • Guest speaker -  Thérèse Mercader, Manager, Languages Unit Secondary Reform, Transitions and Priority Cohorts Division, generally discussing the ‘Current state of Languages Education in Victoria, including the collaboration between the Languages Unit and Language Teacher Associations’. 
  • Confirmation of the Minutes of the 2016 Annual General Meeting;
  • Reports from the President, Treasurer and Sub-Committees on the activities of the Association during the preceding financial year;
  • Election of the 2018 Committee of Management; (under the current Rules); and
  • Collection of names of the incoming Single Language Representatives (where finalised), in accordance with Rule 50 (6) of the MLTAV ‘Rules’.

You are also invited to join the MLTAV Committee, if you are interested in contributing to the organisation in this way. ONLY MLTAV financial members are able to nominate and/or vote for 2018 Committee Members. Each current membership has the right to ONE vote. This includes School Memberships - only ONE person representing their School is entitled to vote. Nominees must also be current MLTAV financial members. ALL nomination forms MUST be completed and returned to the MLTAV Secretary, Catherine Spurritt, (including the written consent of the nominee(s), to the MLTAV Office (via post or scan email), NO LATER THAN 5.30pm Monday 4 December.

Current financial members who are unable to attend the AGM in person, are entitled to complete a proxy voting form nominating another MLTAV member as their proxy. Each current financial membership has the right to ONE vote. This includes School Memberships - only ONE person representing their School is entitled to vote. Persons acting as proxies must also be MLTAV members entitled to vote at the time of the AGM. Click here for a Proxy Voting form.

Immediately following the AGM (7.15pm - 9pm, at the same venue) will be an MLTAV 2017 Project Awards Celebration Dinner.

At this event, the participants of the current cohort of the very successful MLTAV Mentoring Project will be formally presented with a graduation certificate for their participation in this project.

 

All members are welcome to attend this two-course dinner event (at own expense - $70 inc. GST).
